Mascara review!

Heyy!
So I'm going to do a review on two different big-branded Mascara's, and how I found them to work.
These are my opinions, and how I have experienced them. They may be different for you.

Firstly;

MaxFactor False Lash Effect Mascara.
All I can say is - WOW! This mascara is really good, I have to say. It coated my eyelashes really well, and managed to curl them and make them stand out. It's priced at around £10 and available from most Superdrugs and Boots.
When I bought this, I was like 'Is this really going to work?'. I'll be honest, it doesn't make me look like I have on false lashes, but it certainly does a good job at being a great mascara. The big spoolie on the end means that there are less clumps (and I HATE clumps! lol) and it gives an even layer. Unlike most mascara's, the spoolie has smaller, better spaced bristles which seperates the lashes better than any other spoolie I've used.
I've recommended this to many people, and I will continue to do so until I have met another mascara that can do either the same or better.

Secondly;

MAYBELLINE the COLOSSAL volum' Express mascara.
Hmm... This one is hard to describe. It certainly smells funny...
It didn't do my lashes justice either. I think I've used it once since I bought it for around £10.
I was intrigued when the word 'cologan' was mentioned, and imagined this to make my lashes fuller, thicker and much better than they are at the moment. I was very disappointed when it left my lashes limp, and uncurled. They were clumpy, and all over the place. It actually looked like I had the same mascara on as the day before, and not taken it off. However, some friends (who have naturally long and full lashes) have used this mascara, on request by me, and have fallen in love with it. They did look amazing too. So I would say this mascara is better for those who have the longer lashes.

I hope these reviews help in some way. I'm sure there are many other mascaras out there that are amazing too, but I thought these two would be good to review because they aren't that old.

The newest additions to my make-up bag

Heyy!
I just thought I'd share the latest additions to my lush make-up collection xD
I went shopping last wednesday and bought £80 worth! So here's what I got!

  • This is 2True brand from Superdrug (UK). I don't tend to buy products that aren't a well known brand, but I saw a couple of colours and thought why the hell not? This is shade number 8 and... I Love It! It's a really cute pink color with some sparkle to it.

  • Another 2True product I have chosen. I fell in love with this color... it's shade number 4. It's a cute dolly pink - perfect for any girly girl.

  • This is a really gorgeous green I picked up from Superdrug. It's collection 2000 - not a brand I normally use - and that shade is number 10 - 'Tinkerbell'. It's a really bold color - can't wait to see what I can do with this shade ;)

  • Yet another - and the last- 2True product. (It was 3 for a fiver so what the hell?!) This is shade ten - a lovely white color with a golden tint to it. I love duo-chrome colors - add them on top of a dark color, and you have yet another color from the white. I have to admit this is a pretty damn hot shade.

  • Woooooh! Gosh make-up! I LOVE Gosh - it's so vibrant, bold and has good staying power. This is a quad (from Superdrug again) called Platinum. (number 24) It's a bit pricey for some people, but has amazing results. I would deffo recommend this product to anyone who likes to wear make-up.

  • Another Collection 2000 Product in shade 6 - 'Fairy Dust'. These pots are absolutely massive(!!) and rather cheap too! (around £3). I love this color - although I'm not too big on purples. So yeah...next product!

  • This is (Wooh) a BarryM dazzle dust in shade 23. It looks black, but has an amazing shimmer that looks purple. I'll be honest, I didn't mean to buy this one - I was meant to buy the dark blue one. But, I can honestly say, this is awesome and I'll happily settle for it. Deffo worth a buy! And it is, after all, BarryM!

  • This is another (Wooh) BarryM dazzle dust in shade number 20. It's a sweet blue - sort of reminds me of the sky in summer when it's applied to a cream base.

  • Yet another BarryM dazzle dust. This one is in shade number 15. It's a cute blue/green. It's okay...just another colour to add to my collection =P

  • MaXfactor false lash effect mascara - I'm always buying new mascara's and I saw this one in boots and just HAD to give it a go. I love it.

  • Natural collection foundation from boots - in porcelain. Thought I'd give it a try. Wont be buying it again.

  • Natural collection tinted moisturizer in fair. I'm all for tinted moisturisers - I always take a day off from proper foundation. I found this one quite light, but it makes me look a little grey. Maybe I need a different one?

  • I'll be honest - most Natural collection stuff I've disliked. But this concealer (in fair) has totally got my approval. It covers amazingly - Deffo buying this one again!

So that's it for my make-up list. I can honestly say £80 didn't go very far, but I'm overall happy with what I bought.

So...here's that blog I said I'd post xD

So here's the little tips for that Spring Summer look;
  • Make sure you highlight all of your favorite features. Use a highlighter - my favorite one is from Body Shop and costs around a fiver. Highlight your brow bone, cheek bone, and if you wish, highlight your lip line (This really plumps your lips and will draw the attention to them.)
  • If you are using a blush, use a very pale tone, so it looks like you are slightly blushed. Too much is a no-no. You don't want to look like a strawberry.
  • Apply a very thin line across your upper lash line with a brown liner - either liquid or pencil. This will give the illusion of wide, natural looking eyes. It will also help define them better.
  • Apply two coats of mascara, or one if you wish, careful not to get any part of your skin.
  • If applying foundation don't use a matte one. Use one that has light reflecting particles to make you seem like you have that summer glow.
  • You can brush a thin layer of bronzer over your face, but don't mix with a pink blush - this will just make it obvious that your look isn't natural. Use a bronzer a tone deeper for a contoured look.
  • When applying lipstick/gloss, make sure your lips are moisturized. If you have dry skin, a good exfoliation will work wonders. Then simply blot a tiny amount of either moisturizer or balm on your lips before applying the color.
  • When you apply the color to your lips, don't think one coat is enough. To ensure that it stays on for the maximum amount of time, apply a thin layer, blot on a tissue, repeat again, and then finally add a third layer, rubbing your upper lip and lower lip together to guarantee an even coverage.
This is not a step by step guide (Obviously!) and it's only tips on how to get that glowing, natural Summer Spring look.
I hope people like this. Just trying to help, and I hope it does.

Heyy!! (Wow! My first real blog!! =P)

Whilst doing my bit of reading on the internet...as girls do! I came across something that caught my eye! Why of course, it was a column on beauty!
So, as I'm reading this column online, I start to think (naturally) about what looks will be in this summer. Last summer it was all blues and reds and white. Not this year, nuh uh darlings. This year is all about bold lips, highlighted features and innocent, light eyes.
Anyway, as I was reading...or attempting to read whilst thinking...I start to delve in on how to enhance peoples natural beauty, I decided to start a blog, and place some tips on there.
So here I am, typing away to start my first blog, being bombarded by MSN messages, and trying to make myself sound interesting. I'd say it was going well. ^.^
So now I'm going to publish this little...erm...introduction (?) and start right away on how to fit in this Spring Summer without having a face full of overbearing makeup.
Chow guys.
